千光寺第二の巨岩です。岩の上を小石で叩くと「ポン ポン」と鼓のような音がする事からこの名がつきました。

Pon Pon Rock is on Mt Senkoji and on the same route as the Path of Literature. If you tap the rock with something hard (a stone or something similar) you will hear a hollow sounding tapping sound that makes the huge rock appear to be hollow, even though it is impossible for it to be so.
