The views from the temple at the top of Mt Shirataki is the best in Innoshima. "Gohyaku-Rakan", or 500
Buddha statues are there and each Buddha's face is different. At the end of the Edo period, Denroku
Kashihara, who was a native of Innoshima, sculpted them.  After almost dying, he made up his mind to
carve them. After each chisel stroke he bowed three times.
