Konrenji Temple was the family temple of the Murakami pirates (wako) who called Innoshima home. Nearly 500 years ago, the clan controlled the narrow waterways around the island, charging tolls to all ships that had to pass through. Konrenji temple is located at the bottom of a small hill beside Suigun Castle.
