Innoshima Pirate Festival (Aug)

因島水軍まつりは、南北朝時代から室町・戦国時代にかけて因島を拠点に活躍した村上水軍を再現するまつりです。

Innoshima was once home to the Murakami Suigun, a group of people who could be described as a navy, pirates, privateers, or a little of each. They used to control the waters of the Seto inland sea between the Muromachi and the Sengoku periods. The festival is divided into three parts; the Island Festival, the Fire Festival and the Sea Festival and is held towards the end of August.
