生口島 - Ikuchijima Island
In 2006, Setoda merged into the expanded city of Onomichi City. It has an estimated population of around 11,000 people. Ikuchijima Island lies just south of Innoshima Island and can be crossed easily by car or bicycle. Ikuchijima is well known for its fruits , an outdoor island-wide permanent sculpture exhibition, famous Kosanji Temple in Setoda (the main town on the island) and has some of the most beautiful sunsets around. The whole island can be circled on bicycle with a dedicated bicycle path in many parts. Kosanji Temple is an absolute must see for those interested in amazing temples. This one has a particularly interesting story behind it.
