中村憲吉旧居 - Former House of Kenkichi Nakamura
Born in Hiroshima Prefecture, Kenkichi Nakamura was the leader of the "Araragi", a group of poets, and his presence in the world of tanka, a kind of Japanese poetry, is still felt very strongly today. He moved to Onomichi into a house on Mt. Senkoji on December 25th 1932 to recover after an illness. Although he hoped to get better, on May 5th 1933, he passed away at the age of 46. He is still thought of as one of the greatest modern Japanese poets that the country has seen.
